Description
Excelraise, LLC is seeking dedicated and reliable Substitute Teachers to support the Tennessee School for the Blind for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. We are hiring for multiple positions across different educational backgrounds.
Reporting to the Assistant Principal, you will implement educational programs, maintain classroom routines, and supervise students. Duties include following provided lesson plans and assisting with school-wide supervision, including lunchroom, bus, and hall duty.
We are hiring for two categories of qualifications:
Category A (Req #65942):
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (non-certified).
Compensation: $21.00/hour (W2) or $23.00/hour (1099/CTC).
Category B (Req #65943):
Education: High School Diploma/GED required, with at least 60 credit hours (but less than a Bachelor’s degree).
Compensation: $18.75/hour (W2) or $20.50/hour (1099/CTC).
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Follow teacher lesson plans and assume all classroom teacher/assistant duties.
Supervise students and maintain a positive, safe learning environment.
Maintain confidentiality of all student records and observations.
Report major discipline issues to building-level administrators immediately.
Familiarize yourself with school emergency procedures and student medical needs.

Qualifications
Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.

Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred: Experience working with children who have special needs.
Mandatory Background Check
Selected applicants will be required to submit to and pass a rigorous TBI/FBI background check and fingerprinting, including Tennessee and Federal criminal history checks, child abuse records, and professional/personal reference checks.
Important: Due to the school setting, any discrepancies or "red flags" in the background check or fingerprinting report will result in automatic disqualification from consideration.
