Executive Housekeeper

Position Description

Core Duties:

Directs Housekeeping staff in preparing rooms for arriving guests and cleaning stayover guests

Directs the Laundry to ensure that staff have proper linen levels to clean guest rooms.

Ensures safety and proper work practices in the workplace with chemicals and all tools

Hires, trains, coaches, develops, and provides counseling to all team members in Housekeeping.

Performs regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back of house for cleanliness

Purchases and protects all housekeeping supplies, linens, chemicals, and equipment

Develops written policy and procedures for each position to ensure team member success.

Coordinates housekeeping department activities with all other hotel departments

Oversees guest requests and makes sure they are handled promptly and efficiently

Develops shift checklists ensuring daily task completion for each area of Housekeeping

Works with Chief Engineer to identify maintenance or repair needs in all areas.

Processes payables promptly and in accordance with company guidelines.

Prepares weekly schedule based on agreed upon labor assumptions.

Serves on assigned committees as directed to foster communication between departments

Prepares payroll for submission to ensure employees are paid properly and on designated day.

Attends and participates in Daily Stand up and weekly Staff meetings

Assists in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for the department

Implements Quore, IHG Way of Clean, True Hospitality and any other mandated IHG training

Acts as Manager on Duty when needed

Performs any other job duties as directed by General Manager

Physical Demands: Required to sit, climb and balance: stoop, kneel, and crouch, must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
